The Royal Barge Procession
The Royal Barge Procession, one of the most
unique Thai royal and religious ceremonies, has been seen for more than
700 years along the Chao Phraya River. The exquisite procession has
manifested the rare tradition and culture along with the combination of Thai arts and crafts, and unity of the naval officers in all 52 barges joining in the procession.
During the 66 years of His Majesty the King Bhumibol's reign, the royal barge procession has been organized for 16 times. The 17th royal barge procession will take place once again to display the splendor of Thai art, culture, religious and royal tradition with the resounding traditional chant all over the river to the eyes of the world on November 9th, 2012
